I purchased this 1988 Range Rover in January 2002, less than 1 month after entering the country. It was stock standard and in need of major work to make if "Off Road" worthy. As we are only going to be in the USA for 3 years my promise to my wife was to spend as little as possible, Ok at least I have tried!

I have done the following:

4.10 Ring and Pinion Gears have replaced the standard 3.54's

ARB Locker Front and Rear

Rockware heavy duty trailing arms

Rockware Long Travel rear suspension mounts

Rockware spring spacers - 2 inch rear, 1/2 inch front

Rancho 9005 Rear Shocks

Rancho 9207 Front Shocks

Big Blue 3 inch Lift springs [Rears have bene retained at the top]

Long Travel steel braded brake lines

DAP Rock sliders

DAP front diff guard

Poly Bushes all around

Optima Red Top Battery

Hella Front light upgrades

Simex Extreme Trekker 35 x 10.5 x 15 tires [I used to run the 32 x 9.5 x 16 Extreme Trekkers]

Garmin 176 GPS

I have also changed the engine over from a 3.5 litre original engine with in excess of 220,000 miles to a donor 3.9 litre 1993 engine. This new engine, kindly donated by Marc Richardson, has had the heads worked and a Crane 202 Cam installed. I can now be able to go over the Rockies passes at more than snails pace.

Larry Grubbs and I are also working on building custom front and rear bars to protect the vehicle. These are some months off due to other off road commitments.
